For the love of everything Woolly! I'm a big fan of Woolly Pockets over here and I'm kind of (OK, more than just kind of...) in love with their new additions--the freestanding islands. All Woolly Pockets are made in the USA out of 100% recycled materials and they're super breathable so plants thrive in them. What's not to love? The pictures above are of my husband planting two mini herb gardens in a couple of their smallest islands (the Tina), and a lettuce variety in a Lana. They have been growing so darn well!

Woolly giveaway on the blog!

Woolly Pocket has kindly donated a Peacock Blue Lana for a giveaway! To enter, "Like" Woolly Pocket on Facebook or follow them on Twitter, then comment on this post with which Woolly is your favorite. Giveaway ends one week from today on October 6. Good luck!

*Thanks for entering! The winner of the Lana is Ro.

Hello August

Our new baby boy, Dexter.

I'm forcing myself to take a break this month (inspired by Katrina!). This was a very hard decision for me to make because blogging has become such a normal activity in my life. I thought I would use this month to soak up the last of summer...spend my days lounging on the beach and hiking in the mountains, have dinner with friends on a regular basis, enjoy more time in the kitchen, in the yoga studio, in cafés....spend less time in front of the computer and more time being present. I'm not going to ditch out completely though! I'll be posting textless entries with personal photographs I snap this month and you can click on the images for more info. Catch me on Twitter while I'm away from the blog as well!

Have an amazing August my lovely readers! I am so thankful for you and your constant support and encouragement. I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for you. I'll be seeing you soon...-J.

There were so many amazing details at the Snap It Pretty Workshop. Danni and Ruby really outdid themselves! From the lunches wrapped in hand sewn pieces of fabric, to the crafted boutonnières and grab bags, everything from the day had a special touch from the talented duo. It was a relaxed afternoon and I had the best time sharing some knowledge and hanging out with a really cool and creative group of girls. To see and read more details about this lovely workshop, check out Danni and Ruby's recaps here and here! And keep your eyes out for more pretty events put on by these ladies, it's an experience you won't want to miss.

(If you attended Snap It Pretty and blogged about the event, I'd love to see! Leave a link to your recap in the comment section so I can come visit you! And if you didn't blog about it but have a blog, leave a link to your site as well :). Thank you!)

WHAT'S YOUR ART?

Welcome to a new series: What's Your Art? My friend Patrick makes a living as a human statue street performer in Seattle. I've known him for a good number of years now and when I first heard about this new endeavor of his, it made so much sense. He does a killer job being a living statue. He rocks his art! Watch the video below by Kaylyn Messer for a more in depth portrait of Patrick.

What's your art? Do you do something in life that will fascinate the masses or that you feel needs to be shared? Do you create, have a cool studio, or have a job that makes the world a better place? If you live in LA, San Francisco, or anywhere in between, liked to be photographed and want to share your art, email me at iartu.jennifer(at)gmail(dot)com with what you do and where you're located. All submissions will be reviewed and you will receive a response if fitting for I ART U.
