ok let's be serious, who doesn't love a seed bomb?! designers daniel phillips + kim karlsrud from COMMONstudio have come up with a rad and innovative way to make seed bombing a cinch for all. they've converted vintage gumball machines into seed bomb dispensers to encourage community engagement and green space in urban environments. the seed bombs are made out of a mixture of clay, compost, and seeds, created to be thrown into forgotten grey spaces like sidewalk cracks! within about a week or so, up comes green goodness!
currently, danny and kim are working to place 12 more machines in under-served communities throughout L.A. and beyond. to fund the effort, they are using a sweet website called kickstarter which allows people like you + me to make small contributions toward creative projects. the crazy thing is, kickstarter has an "all-or-nothing" policy which means if they don't reach their goal by the deadline (july 3rd!), they lose everything (no money changes hand). they have a bit to go so please help out in any way! no contribution is too small--whether you spread the word through your blog, twitter, or facebook, or talk to people in your church or community! what are you waiting for!? let's go! watch this video and be inspired!!!
