it's been quiet around the blog this week, i've missed you. i had a hard time trying to write posts while witnessing the sadness, pain, and suffering that is happening around the world. from civil unrest, to natural disasters, from genocide to human trafficking, the world seems to be overwhelmed by brokenness that is beyond imagination.
however, i still hold on to hope. i was inspired this week seeing so many bloggers participate in art relief and fundraising, and also the amazing bloggers day of silence that the girls from ever ours and utterly engaged put together that i will be taking part in. my reader was filled to the brim with people on board. what a supportive and amazing online community we have; it really is an incredible demonstration of what we can do if we all work together! if you haven't seen it yet, check out for japan with love (their goal was to raise $5,500 and currently they have raised over $46,000--amazing!). the money raised is going toward shelter box, an emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies agency that supports families around the world who are affected by disasters, at the time when they need it the most. read more about it here and here. get involved and donate!
see you next week. i (he)art (yo)u.

What a powerful video, thank you for posting it. I've been feeling the same way.. this tragedy has made me think so much and my prayers are with the people of Japan and their families around the world.
ReplyDeleteHow does one participate in this? By not posting on March 18th? And putting this photo up? I'd like to know more info.

That is so amazing that they've raised that much, wow.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it's hard to bring yourself to post in the midst of so much sadness and loss. Everything seems so trivial in comparison.
Can you believe over 50,000 dollars was raised? An incredible thing.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to be a part of the blogging community!
I only wish I could do more.
Hope you had a lovely weekend J!
