A visit to San Francisco isn't complete without a stop on 18th street in The Mission. We love Pizzeria Delfina, Tartine, and Bi-rite Market and Creamery. What are your favorite spots to visit in SF? We're always looking for recommendations!

  1. That pizza looks so good, it's breakfast time here but because of you I am now craving for a slice.

  3. Plow in Potrero Hill (close to the Mission) is one of our favorite brunch places! Butler & Chef also has pretty amazing brunch food too.

  4. i'm a big big fan of weird fish (also in the mission). it's tiny & perpetually busy, but totally worth the wait. http://goo.gl/XrTIs

  5. Oh, I love Bi-Rites! Also good in The Mission is Foreign Cinema - they have great brunch, plus, at night, they project movies on the wall!

Some other SF food recommendations -
Hog's Island Oyster Bar in the Ferry Building (best grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had). Plus, the farmer's market outside always have lots of yummy little eats.

    Kokkari: delicious Greek food.

The House: amazing menu, fusion food, so good!

Bin38: a fun wine bar with good tapas, in the Marina district.

Han Il Kwon: if you're looking for delicious Korean food with tons of mini-dishes!

Gary Danko's: for a fancy dinner, such good food!

And if you venture a little bit outside the city...
La Note in Berkeley: a French style restaurant with a pretty garden in their backyard. Amazing breakfast/brunch!
    Gregoire's in Berkeley: gourmet takeout!
A Cote in Oakland: a fun and yummy Tapas place!

And if you go to Napa...besides the big-hitters like Redd and Thomas Keller's restaurants, I'd recommend these places for lunch: Oakville Grocery, Genova, The Food Mill, or Rutherford Grill (all come highly recommended by friends who grew up in Napa). And for dinner: try out Oenotri, located in downtown Napa. It's opened by a friend, but honestly, the food is downright amazing. It's all very fresh and seasonal; every single thing is delicious :)

Ahh - this is really making me miss San Francisco! :) Next time I visit, I'm definitely trying out this pizza joint!

  8. Oh my gosh, that pizza is making me drool. I've never been able to spend more than a few hours in SF so I haven't been to very many spots there... I would love to explore someday.

  13. Ugh I want pizza now lol.

And I've never been to this restaurant, but my friend who used to live there told me about this place called Opaque. It's a restaurant where you dine in the dark! It's supposed to enhance your tasting experience, and all the servers are either blind or visually impaired. I always thought it sounded like a cool place to visit!

  17. Andalu for brunch in the Mission has an amazing egg dish with truffle oil! Also good for tapas-style dinner. Did I mention, fried mac and cheese sticks?

Frjtz for brunch. Their eggs benny's are awesome and the dipping sauces for the frites are endless. My favorites are saffron aioli and curry ketchup.

Burma Superstar. Located in the "original" Chinatown, this place boasts of a tea leaf salad that will for sure tickle your taste buds and keep you coming back for more! Definitely one of a kind dish and quite possibly one of the best things I've ever eaten!

Foreign Cinema for brunch in the Mission. Classy, farm-fresh fare while movies are projected onto a big screen for your enjoyment.

Homeroom in Oakland for mac n cheese galore!

  18. well if it's ice cream you're after, there's nothing better than Mitchell's, lower mission/bernal heights.

  19. That pizza looks delicious and your photographs are absolutely beautiful!

This past summer we went for the weekend and I had an amazing chewy gingersnap cookie at Ici in Berkeley. I can't stop thinking about it! And I second the comment about Burma Superstar, the tea leaf salad was unlike anything I've ever eaten.
