WEEKEND IN SNAPS

My friend Ashley owns a Fuji Instax Wide Instant Camera--it's huge and it's awesome. She snapped these beauties during our fun-filled adventures this weekend (Thanks, Ash!). Nature and time with friends has a way of nurturing and restoring the soul like no other...

We spent the weekend in Palm Springs...was anyone in the area? There was a crazy wind storm on Saturday--I've never experienced anything like it (think metal poles bending and pillows flying!). Aside from that it was ever so chill...lazy wake up calls, hot tubbing, a Saturday night dance sesh, good meals and friends. Oh, and it was my first time trying Cheeky's in town--fresh, seasonal, local and organic food...I loved it!

This weekend was good. I was lucky to hang and visit with some very kool kats. Anyone else make it out to UniqueLA? What'd you think? I love seeing such a fun and creative community come together! Besides that creative commotion, I shot a wedding and spent some much needed time with my family. I feel like I'm ready for another weekend! How was yours?

Inspired by a pretty potluck picnic this past weekend at The Jungalow with some of my very favorite people. I crave days like these...

An entire Sunday without work. The beach, a pumpkin patch and corn field, and little bits of fall...love! Hope you enjoyed the weekend. What's on your agenda tonight? Nothing much here, just a little Dead Man's Bones! xo -J.

Stopping in to say hello. I had a really enjoyable time in Monterey, CA this weekend with friends I hold very dear to my heart! We spent time on the beach, enjoyed good meals, and witnessed two remarkable friends say their "I do's". It's been a while since I've been a guest at a wedding (sans camera) and I had the best time being in the presence of friends and celebrating love. Sadly, this is a short update as I'm about to get on the road again for some work. I'm hoping to catch you up on what I've been doing this summer. Soon...

Hope you had a pleasant weekend! -J.

One more day to enter the giveaway!

9/11 memorial

We had a beautiful overcast weekend here in San Luis Obispo. Nothing like a summer thunderstorm to mix things up a bit. I shot a perfectly simple wedding, spent some time with good friends, ate delicious food, and enjoyed time outdoors. My husband and I attended an especially moving memorial service yesterday that left us feeling hopeful and fulfilled. It's been 10 years but it still feels like yesterday...

Ahhh... so excited for the weekend. Happy Friday! I'm looking forward to hanging with Danni and Ruby tomorrow at Snap it Pretty! And on Sunday the husband and I will be under the stars taking in the tunes of Stevie Wonder+ at the Hollywood Bowl. Anyone going? Have a great weekend! :) -J.

Is it really Friday already? I'm welcoming the weekend with open arms that's for sure. The two things on my agenda: prepping for a photo show and drinking in the beauty of the first issue of Kinfolk. How about you?

I opened a package full of vintage sequins and confetti today! What a way to bring in the weekend. Katrina sure knows how to make my day. Did you see the calling cards she made this week? Genius, right?

Wishing you a restful weekend. What are your plans? I 'm hoping to see a bit more of you next week. -J.

SALK_1254SALK_1260...portrait. I spent a good amount of time taking in the beauty of the Salk Institute in La Jolla this week. My friend Dustin from 5ing took these portraits of me using his Nikon D7000's double exposure feature. So good.

How was your week by the way? Here are a few things I've enjoyed around the web:
---The Dining Society=genius and necessary.
---Travel inspiration from _theBRIEF.
---A new-to-me blog: Little Paper Planes.
---HELLOSOMEBODY is changing lives.
---This article by Ryan Gosling and John Prendergast. Get in the know!

Oh, and catch me on Moorea Seal today for a round-up of wedding gifts--$100 or less! Have a good weekend all! -J.
