haiti relief follow-up!

posted on: February 03, 2010

wow. i am really beyond words!
and my words will definitely fall short...

the sense of community was palpable on friday evening!
i've never felt anything like it.
a melting pot of
artists,
lovers,
believers,
designers,
musicians,
students,
friends,
families
bakers,
photographers,
crafters,
(etc.!)
gathered together to do what they could, to help a nation rise.

the elements in the following pictures
create a perfect and intoxicating concoction
that make me weak in the knees!
they create warmth, hope, inspiration and fulfillment.
a feast for my senses and then some!

most importantly i was struck with an epiphany.
for once i deeply grasped what we as people should be doing...
and how we as a community should be living and loving!

  1. ohhh you were able to make it out to sally loo's?? how lucky! wish i could've gone, joined in the revelry, helped out the cause, and met little miss sally loo herself. your photographs, however, are crystalline and intimate enough that i feel like i was there. thank you for sharing, J.!

  2. Hi Jennifer, so love your blog.. Beautiful... What I am moved by is your epiphany of the experience of community/love/selflessness. I think it's so cool how you and Josh just follow the sometimes obscure leading of God..... and...God's church breaks out. The serendipity of God. God builds His church. We don't have to do anything, but follow Him. We don't find "church", Church finds us. BTW this anonymous person is Daryl...Josh's old friend. Not old as in a long time....old as in old. :)
