Dreaming of a carefree summertime...

Weekend

Stopping in to say hello. I had a really enjoyable time in Monterey, CA this weekend with friends I hold very dear to my heart! We spent time on the beach, enjoyed good meals, and witnessed two remarkable friends say their "I do's". It's been a while since I've been a guest at a wedding (sans camera) and I had the best time being in the presence of friends and celebrating love. Sadly, this is a short update as I'm about to get on the road again for some work. I'm hoping to catch you up on what I've been doing this summer. Soon...

Weekend

We had a beautiful overcast weekend here in San Luis Obispo. Nothing like a summer thunderstorm to mix things up a bit. I shot a perfectly simple wedding, spent some time with good friends, ate delicious food, and enjoyed time outdoors. My husband and I attended an especially moving memorial service yesterday that left us feeling hopeful and fulfilled. It's been 10 years but it still feels like yesterday...

I am fascinated by these maps. They're printed on lightweight, flexible material that is durable and waterproof, and can be stuffed into your pocket or handbag. Practical and pretty--I think I need one for my New York trip next month! The maps are made in Italy and Available at Brooklyn 5 and 10.

When I read about the musical pairing of a Squash Blossom Omelet + The Shins album, Oh, Inverted World (Garden State, anyone?), I was sold. I could get used to my meals having a musical companion! If you enjoy good music and good eats, you'll definitely enjoy exploring Turntable Kitchen.

Catching Up

The August Break is officially over. It's been a busy and eventful month+ and I can't help but feel thankful--thankful for the time away from my computer, thankful for inspiration and creativity, and thankful for the people that surround me. I've missed blogging but the past month has been so good for me. I'm looking forward to starting fresh on this blog! What's new with you?! I'd love to know what you've been up to! -J.
